Braid and Twist UpDo

Sorry I havent been on for awhile y'all!
We've been moving so much it's ridic!
Thought I'd come by and post a recent style I did on Beebs
I did this Friday(21st) and thank goodness for her bonnet it still looks like I just did it! :)

I wet her hair first.
I used Reve' Hair and Body Moisturizer as a leave-in(It is our staple leave-in we love it! You can get it here: http://shop.reveessentials.com/Hair-Body-Moisturizer-HBM.htm )
I used Hair Perfection(first time using it and I can def. see this staying in our reg. You can get it here: http://shop.coilyheadchick.com/ )
I did the back in piggyback braids and flat twisted the front and ended with braids.
I dabbed some Eco Styler Gel on her edges to make them behave :)

I hope you like it! We LOVE it! :)

Tropical Traditions Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil Review

I have been on a hunt for the perfect oil to help seal in moisture and give her hair some awesome shine!
I think I have found it!

I seen a post about them needing reviewers for the coconut oil so I e-mailed them and soon enough a jar was sent my way!

Their website: http://www.tropicaltraditions.com/

You can find the oil that we were given here: http://www.tropicaltraditions.com/virgin_coconut_oil.htm

Here's a video on Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil :

OUR REVIEW:

(The same jar we received)

I used it to take down Beebs Mini-Mini braids and it was awesome! It immediately made her hair softer and aided in the take down of the braids. It took no time at all with this to take them all out!

Next I used it with a few other oils I had in the house as a Pre-Poo...It did it again! Made it very soft and helped with the shampoo(non-sulfate) to not strip all her oils off of her hair!

After conditioning and rinsing I then again used the coconut oil as a sealant for her hair and it was lovely!
Beebs told me "Momma this stuff is awesome! I want to use it every time we wash my hair!"

We have also used it on our lips as a lip balm and on our cuts to help heal them. It works!
Beebs' dad got hurt at work and a huge box fell on his ankle. I applied this oil to it and it closed up within the day and was gone within a week. He loves it wants his own now! :)

I have also found a whole bunch of recipes with which I can use the coconut oil with! I cannot wait to try them out and I will write another review to let you know how it goes!

KandyLandKurls Protective Style Challenge Week 9(FINAL WEEK)

Y'all this is it :'(
We had sooooo much fun being in this challenge!
Seeing everyone's beautiful children! And learning new styles as well :)
After this challenge I took it upon myself to tell me "I will learn how to cornrow properly by the end of the summer!)
I can cornrow her mini braids but her thick curly hair is another story!
See what I mean!^^^ :) Beebs said "Momma! I look like a pineapple! Cool!" :p
The products I used for that week were Giovanni's leave-in
I co-washed that Sunday with Organix's Hydrating Macadamia Oil Condish
After washing I moisturized and sealed with Reve Essentials products(http://reveessentials.com/)
She loved having them up because it was starting to get hot! Yes already! LOL....(This was March BTW)

KandyLandKurls Protective Style Challenge Week 8

Week 8! Almost done! :P

I used the same old water/oils with the spritz' (Cara B and Bee Mine) with the Giovanni Leave-In :)
I also forgot to mention that we use castor oil on her edges around her whole head every night before her bonnet goes on :D
Beebs is a nut! She stole that night shirt from me! lol and it works just as good for her :)

KandyLandKurls Protective Style Week 7

Awwee!!! Isn't my Beebs just the sweetest?!
Week 7 y'all! The end is near! :'(
I've been using Giovanni's leave in as well as the spritz'! (Cara B and Bee Mine) with the water/oils
The mini braids started to get mad frizzy so we braided them up! :)

(She loves her panda to death! and treats it like it's her baby! :)

KandyLandKurls Protective Style Challenge Week 6

The DIVA is in!!!
We're rocking the same mini braids!!! I love them SO MUCH!!!
We've used the same spritz (Cara B/Bee Mine) as well as my oil/water mixture I made to keep her hair moisturized!! (and her bonnet every night)
Water makes Beebs' hair shrink SO much! She loves the look though so oh well! :)
(She just got the earrings and headband the day we took the picture so she had to rock them since they matched! :)

KandyLandKurls Protective Style Challenge Week 5

Week 5!
We gon' make it y'all!

There was no change in her braids.
We used Cara B Naturally's Moisturizing Spritz or Bee Mine's Spritz for moisturizing :)
Also used her bonnet nightly :) EXCEPT one night we couldn't find it so her smart self turned a pair of her jammy pants inside out and put it on her head LMBO!!! Hey don't knock it until you have to try it~! :p (The jammies were silky like her bonnet)

I also cornrowed the front of her hair to keep it out of her face :)
(My girl was hungry when I remembered to take the pics so I let her eat while I took them so please excuse the food bowl :)

KandyLandKurls Protective Style Challenge Week 4

I know the challenge has been over for a month but I will finish posting for it! :)

Week 4!

I think we found one of our fave sealers!!!
For this week I re-did all of her braids using water/olive oil, giovanni's leave-in, and we used HoneyChile HairLove's Whipped Shea Butter Mix(http://www.facebook.com/honeychilehairlove) for sealing!
She had VERY LITTLE shrinkage using the shea butter mix....we continue to use it for her ends :)

KandyLandKurls Protective Style Challenge Week 3

Week 3 went off without a hitch!
We used water/tea tree leave-in spray(from Sallys)
Then we used the Madagascar Vanilla Styling Creme for a sealant and hold :)
I re-did some of the braids smaller because we realized her hair does much better with smaller braids than the ones that were put in on week 1!
I put the minis in a piggyback braid ponytail so she can play around the house without her ends getting messed with :)

KandyLandKurls Protective Style Challenge Week 2

We got to week 2 and it's going so well in the challenge!
We only re-braided a few that came loose and made a few smaller :)
I used water and giovanni leave-in with olive oil to seal!

KandyLandKurls Protective Style Challenge Week 1

Remember I told y'all back in January that Beebs'  is gonna participate in the challenge!
Well it is done on the 19th so we're almost there!
There are sooo many awesome styles we have seen in the group and met sooo many awesome new friends:)

This is a post for week one!
We decided to do box braids for the challenge because Beebs loves them and loves how she can put them up almost anyway she can :)
January 19th:
We washed her hair with Shea Moisture's Curl and Shine Shampoo and Conditioned with Silk Elements Luxury Moisturizing Conditioner(which I got free with renewing my Sally Card last October and won't be using it again on her hair because it has mineral oil in it and any products with that in it just sit on top of her hair)
 \
After lightly drying with a t-shirt we re-wet with some water and added Giovanni's Leave-In and for the sealant I used Bruce's Babes Butter(http://www.brucesbabesbutter.com/) for the back(then my clumsy self lost the container so I couldn't finish with it...BUT I have it now) (BBB will be getting a review from me very soon! :)
I used Grapeseed oil for the top sealant. I cornrow the box braids to get the crinkly look and she loves it! :)
